Pets Not Passive Enough - Curbed LA

Thursday, June 23, 2011, by Adrian Glick Kudler

2011.06_pets.jpgThe Annenberg Foundation is thinking about scaling back its Rancho Palos Verdes pet-education park project because of issues with getting the state and feds to allow that use on the selected piece of land. The site is deeded for passive recreation, so it's possible that the foundation will have to prove the pet center is a "public facility" or trade the land for open space somewhere else. Annenberg thinks the pets qualify as a public facility, but the National Park Service says that as the project is designed now, it'll require a land trade. [DB]
